A Smart Garden Products Scholarship winner, Alice Cook is currently studying  for a FdSc Horticulture (Plant Science) at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

Alice has always had a keen interest in plants and has embraced the opportunity to study them more closely through her course at the Eden Project.

She believes the course has been the perfect stepping stone to broaden her knowledge, develop skills and understand the career opportunities in the horticulture industry.

Since beginning her studies, Alice has found a particular interest in plant propagation and pathology and has used her scholarship award to take advantage of some work experience opportunities at The Lost Gardens of Heligan and at Rosewarne micro-propagation laboratory. She is also hoping to be able to secure a work placement at RHS Wisley in their pathology department.

On learning that she had been awarded this scholarship, Alice said,

“I am extremely excited about the opportunity that Colegrave Seabrook Foundation and Smart Garden Products have given me. This will be a great step for me to pursue my career in horticulture.”

Smart Garden Products have supported five students in their horticultural journey this year. Not only have students been given a financial boost, but they have the opportunity to participate in a Development Day at the Peterborough HQ in July. This will give the students an insight into the running of a major horticultural supplier and valuable business experience. We are very grateful for the support of Smart Garden Products to the Colegrave Seabrook Foundation.
